| May 2nd 2010: England beat Scotland (06/05/2010 @ 14:24:34) |
|
This was the first meeting between the two sides since Scotland snatched the World Cup from England’s grasp in 2007, however the sides bore only a slight resemblance to the sides that contested the World Cup final back then.
Although not taking anything for granted the England team were confident and ready for a tough battle. From the whistle the action was fast and frenetic and at the first break England had overwhelmed their opponents and went in 64-19 ahead. The Scots were fighting hard and blocking well but England maintained the pressure and went into half time having built up a comfortable lead of 81 points. They continued to pile on the pressure and finished the match at 233-116, breaking the World Record for the highest score in a match in the process.
The teams had a break before the next game. Things carried on where they left off with the match played at an unbelievably fast pace. England went into the first break of the second game leading 71-28. The English team then dominated the match with a power play to reach another record-breaking score as they continued to build their lead and again smashed the record they’d just set to win the second match 254-118 and lead the series 2-0.
The final game was fast and furious as the Scots fought hard to finish on a high – and indeed they managed to both reduce England’s total and take more points off them, however it wasn’t enough and England won the final match 243-130 to take the series 3-0.

| March 17th 2010: New Hall of Fame Inductees (17/03/2010 @ 09:12:31) |
|
Our congratulations go to Carl Alsop, Ian Crosby and Graeme Wood who are the 2010 inductees into the Rock-It-Ball Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is the highest honour that our sport can bestow and is intended for people who have made an outstanding contribution to the sport. Two people are inducted every two years until 2012 when it is intended that this will become an annual honour, however the Hall of Fame Committee felt unable to differentiate between the three people who made it through to the final stage and, as an exception, voted to honour all three. Again, our heartfelt congratulations to Carl, Ian and Graeme
